Battery Starting Capacitor for KTM/Husqvarna Enduro Bikes

Battery Starting Capacitor for KTM/Husqvarna Enduro Bikes

CHF 40.00

This is a simple, cost-effective upgrade that addresses a known electrical limitation on fuel-injected KTM and Husqvarna Enduro motorcycles. On these models, if the battery voltage drops below approximately 9.1V, the ECU and fuel injection system cannot function, which means the bike cannot be kick-started or bump-started—even though it has a kickstarter. A weak or failed battery can therefore leave the rider stranded.

The Starting Capacitor Kit provides a reliable solution by supplying stable electrical power to the ECU and injector system during startup, allowing the motorcycle to be push-started or kick-started even when the battery is weak or dead. It functions as a small, solid-state reserve power source, remaining installed permanently and requiring no ongoing adjustment or maintenance.

Key Benefits:

  • Allows push-starting or kick-starting in the event of a weak or dead battery
  • Provides stable power to the ECU and injector during starting
  • Acts as a miniature solid-state backup battery once installed
  • Protects against being stranded due to overnight battery drain (e.g., navigation or
  • other auxiliary equipment left on)
  • Helps smooth voltage fluctuations by acting as a DC system noise filter
  • Fully sealed using marine-grade, glue-lined heat-shrink for long-term durability
  • Proven in demanding off-road environments
  • Made in Switzerland

Installation:

  • Connect the capacitor leads directly to the positive and negative battery terminals (BE AWARE OF THE POLARITY. Red cable to positive terminal and black cable to negative terminal/ground).
  • Secure the capacitor to the frame or another secure mounting point using the included cable tie.
  • Once installed, the system requires no further attention. Simply leave it in place.

Fitment:

  • Compatible with fuel-injected KTM and Husqvarna enduro models (2-stroke and 4-stroke).
  • In a worst-case situation, the battery can be removed entirely. Connect the capacitor directly to the motorcycle’s battery terminals and the engine can be push- or kick-started until a replacement battery is available.

Important Safety Notice:

  • A charged capacitor stores electrical energy.
  • Do not short the terminals together or touch them simultaneously with your hands.
  • To safely discharge, connect a 12V bulb or allow the unit to sit disconnected overnight.
